How my week-long vacay turned into a "reset" month.
The last time I wrote, I was fixing to take a week off from newsletters and social media. We had an amazing trip to upstate NY. I even got some work-related stuff done each day we were gone! But when I came back, I realized that I had to re-prioritize my time + direction with CollabCreate.
Up to that point, my focus had been on Instagram and writing this newsletter for our community. But the time off gave me space and clarity to think about the bigger picture of what I want to do with this brand. There are So Many Things I want to build for you all, and I'm not serving my purpose by spending the bulk of my time on social media content at this point.
So, this month I've been revamping our website, planning more community events for the fall, and working on some exciting partnerships that I cannot wait to share with you soon! On social media, I'm still running Stories features but we're taking a pause on posts until August. In the meantime, keep tagging @collabcreatedc in what you're doing so we can continue to share!
I also realized that I wanted to "niche down" the content of this newsletter... women and non-binary folx make up 85% of the CollabCreate DC audience. They're the ones showing up at our events, requesting features on our feed, and just generally working the hardest to expand their businesses and collaborations in our community. So going forward, I decided to tweak the focus of this newsletter to cater to women and non-binary entrepreneurs.
For the community at large, I'll soon be launching a separate mailing list with an exciting new feature that will help you meet and match with people + resources for your business through a collaborative local network. We're starting to collect information for a DC venues database to help match people with spaces for events, pop-ups, and workshops. AND we're working on a shared calendar where you can submit your events for everyone to see.
Thank you for your continued support + participation in this process! If you have any thoughts or requests for things you'd like to see in this community, please reply to this email and share with me.
