Art of Noize DMV Founder Adrian Ferguson
Tucked away behind Upshur Street in Petworth, Art of Noize is a multi-purpose artist studio that opened to give artists a place to showcase their talents in an intimate "living room" style setting. Recently, @artofnoizedmv expanded their offerings to the community by opening up the space to all creatives + entrepreneurs searching for a place to hold events. Whether you're looking to host, or just want to check out a great local art or music happening, be sure to put this spot on your radar.
We met owner Adrian Ferguson (pictured) at one of their "DEEP NOIZE" events earlier this summer, and we're excited about what he's bringing to the community. Adrian describes DEEP NOIZE as "art + music on a deep cosmic speakeasy level." These monthly events feature a DJ like @lukumipeople spinning out the mood while attendees browse the collection of art on-site, lounge on the couches, or watch a live artist like @khalid_thompson at work creating art in front of the audience. You can catch the next DEEP NOIZE on August 15 - drop by from 7-11 and enjoy the vibes!
This Friday, August 9th, visit Art of Noize for their opening reception for Takoma Park-born artist Evie Tobias. Evie (@onmyartflow) draws from an eclectic and diverse artistic background to share her talents through visual art. By combining high fashion vintage magazines with other recycled materials, she creates her innovative style of art that she calls Art Flow. Click on the link in bio at @artofnoizedmv for more info about Evie + the event.
Adrian's favorite thing about what he does is being able to provide a platform for people to perform, promote, create, and collaborate. So, whether you're looking for something new on the creative scene or space for your own event, be sure to follow @artofnoizedmv, then sign up for their mailing list to stay up on the latest at Petworth's hottest art spot.
