Awesome Foundation DC

Awesome Foundation DC

Who wants a thousand bucks, for free? Did you know there's a group in DC that gives away $1,000 no-strings-attached microgrants every month to help fund awesome ideas and projects in the DC area? It's true. Today's #tuesdaytip is a hot one... meet Awesome Foundation DC!

@AwesomeFoundationDC is a giving circle collective of DC residents who help fund a wide spectrum of amazing arts, culture, and community experiences. Past recipients range from the founding Funk Parade to Indiana Jones and the Alley of Doom to Night of 1,000 Fridas... and much more! The group is entirely volunteer-run and self-funded by its Trustees, who thrive on bringing more Awesome to DC $1,000 at a time.

This Saturday, June 22, AFDC is mixing it up a bit to celebrate the American Library Association's Annual Conference. Along with Awesome Foundation Libraries, @AwesomeFoundationDC is hosting a collaborative live pitch event where they'll choose this month's grant winner. Six finalist proposals have been selected and pitched to their panel of judges and members of the DC and library communities.

The judges will choose two winning pitches, with one exclusively focused on the DC community. And EACH winner will walk out of the pitch event with $1,000 for their project! In addition, the audience gets to vote for their favorite pitch of the night, with a prize funded by attendees' donations. You can RSVP here for this free event: bit.ly/librarylivepitch, or visit link in bio at @AwesomeFoundationDC.

Interested in getting $1,000 for your awesome idea? Click the @AwesomeFoundationDC link in bio to check out the details on how to apply + win a sweet microgrant of your own! FYI, there are Awesome Foundation chapters in Northern VA and Baltimore that support those specific communities as well.

Stop by @awesomefoundationDC and show them some love for supporting our amazing creative community here in DC and beyond! We truly appreciate your support.
