Sereal Girls by Deveney Williams

If you haven't seen the "Sereal Girls" calendar yet, prepare to be obsessed with the idea of playing in a bathtub full of cereal like a grown kid. As a designer, artist, and creative consultant, Deveney Williams specializes in capturing authentic stories and making them relatable. Through her @serealgirls project, she playfully explored the empowerment of women feeling comfortable and beautiful in their own skin.

Deveney aims to bring authenticity into each piece she does, energizing both the subject and viewer. "As an artist, we have the opportunity to inspire and educate someone and that is something I truly value," she says of her work. As a viewer, we appreciate that she delivered her Sereal Girl images without retouching the models - a testament to Deveney's belief that we're already perfect.

It's only been a couple of years since the Boston born-and-raised artist moved to DC and immediately got swept up in the amazing community of local entrepreneurs, designers, and creatives. @deveneywilliams feels blessed for the warm welcome and the willingness to share resources that helped steer her in the right direction in her new city. And she hopes to be a resource for someone like her in the future.

She joined Femme Fatale last year after seeing a post on their IG account that made her fall in love with the spirit and community that they embody. She loves how @femmefataledc brings women from all across the spectrum of womanhood together to celebrate their artistic visions, and one another.
