Mixed Media Artist Sarah Renzi Sanders
Sarah Renzi Sanders is a mixed media painter - pictured here during last year's Femme Fatale pop-up opening. Her current vision is rooted in her meditation practice. She finds that quieting her mind before she paints is essential to channeling her intuition.
Her work expresses her own exploration as an artist as she experiments and learns new techniques. Sarah feels it's important to push past fear in order to grow as an artist, which she did when she tackled this gallery wall - the largest piece she had ever done! She also wants her art to be an energetic experience for the viewer, touching on spirituality and helping us to remember our energetic connections to all things in the universe.
Sarah got her public start in the DC creative community in 2017, when she started an IG page for her art - @renzisandersart. Soon after, she started selling on @Etsy, and then began applying to as many shows, galleries, and markets as she could. In May 2018, @femmefataledc invited her to display her art and paint for their summer pop-up.
As a mother of three, Sarah spends a lot of energy taking care of others. Her children are her world + always come first, but her art practice is "me time"... something she has that is completely her own, outside her identity as a mother. Sarah says, "For me, creating is like breathing. I love that I'm able to create art and share it with the world." Her fave thing about what she does? Meeting a new person who connects with her work. She also loves sharing her knowledge with others by teaching them to express their energy through color.
Sarah's hosting a "Moon Phase Painting Workshop" on Sunday, March 24 at Femme Fatale. She'll guide you through creating your own unique moon phase painting using acrylic on canvas. You'll learn basic techniques + non-traditional ones like finger painting + splatter to create galaxy-like background + textures. And you'll take home your beautiful moon phase painting on stretched canvas. Sign up via her link in bio at @renzisandersart
