Lunch City Studio + Courtney Drake
Our #mondaymakers interview series today features Courtney Drake of @lunchcity - and her adorable sidekick pup, Lunchbox!
A DC-based artist whose work celebrates the places where we belong and feel at home, Court's prints reflect the inspiration she finds in the places that surround her. By focusing on the concept of "place", she celebrates the energy + connection of our cities, neighborhoods, and homes. Here's a peek behind the scenes of her work!
CCDC: What's your fave thing about what you do?
@lunchcity: I've created a space for me to unleash all of the ideas circling in my brain.
CCDC: What project is keeping you busy right now?
@lunchcity: I'm working on a drawing of The Line Hotel for a client. The architecture is stunning. It was intimidating at first but it's fun to figure out the proportions and learn the details.
CCDC: What's your go-to spot in DC for some fun? Self care, shopping, eating, hobbies - anything you want to share that isn't work-related!
@lunchcity: I'm usually thinking about my next meal. On the weekends I like to have a specific food goal: pizza with pesto, fries with fancy sauce, or a killer grilled cheese. I always achieve my food dreams!

Thank you, Court, for being our first maker feature!
