Underbares + Genevieve Gralton
If you wear bras or love someone who does, then you need to know Genevieve Gralton, the creator of DC's own @underbares (the most comfortable bras we've ever owned). Last month, we met Genevieve in person at the @_behold.her x @underbares portrait event at @bureaustudio and now we're mega-fans of the bras AND the person behind them. She's a genuinely passionate, caring person who believes in the mission to make her customers feel amazing.
Genevieve launched @underbares in March 2018 based on a revolutionary idea in lingerie: women deserve to feel comfortable. Not just when we get home from work and tear off our bras, but all day long. Her holistic design approach centers on putting the wearer's needs first. Her bras combine comfort and beauty, complimenting all shapes of bodies instead of imposing an artificial shape or body image ideal. The result: an accessible brand that feels like a luxury, designed + made in the USA.
For Genevieve, Underbares is more than selling bras. Her favorite thing about what she does is meeting her customers, getting feedback, + learning more about how to make them feel comfortable and beautiful. And she truly takes the feedback to heart. On Dec. 14, Underbares launches its Bare Collection: four new colorways inspired by requests for a range of nude-shade bras.
When she's not obsessing over making us all feel comfy and gorgeous, Genevieve loves to play Sunday soccer, followed by brunch at @glengardenmkt or @emissarydc. She + her fiance are also big sushi fans - @sushitarodc is their go-to for a splurge! Her self-care routine includes treatments at @transformationalacupuncture and group classes over at @vidafitnessdc. And if you ever want to make her day, bring her a matcha and cookies from @bakedandwireddc.
Bonus: to celebrate the nudes launch, @domesticatedamateurs has a bra giveaway on 12/14! See their latest post for details. We're also posting on our Stories today a portrait sneak peak from last month's event - our founder, Elle, rocking her Underbares in black.
Put every color on your shopping list + support this DC woman-owned business! Then spread the word when you fall in love with your new bras.
